Netwalking Masterclass: AUT
Netwalking Masterclasses are an opportunity for artists, performers, academics and students to present and discuss walking or related participatory, media or social art projects with visiting artist Simon Pope and a group of peers.
We are particularly interested in artists working with walking, conversational or dialogic forms, projects that deal with relationship to landscape or environment, expeditionary methodologies and projects that bridge between media art and post-media forms such as walking.
The goal of the master classes is to generate a conversation between peers, get feedback and direction for artists, and to identify commonalities and differences between projects.
Netwalking Masterclasses are open to all artists, students or academics with projects at any stage of development, from early ideation to already completed projects.
Presentation places are limited to 8 per session and these will be chosen by a panel. All other registered participants are welcome to attend and to join in the discussion.
Please upload a detailed description (< 500 words) of your project including any links to further materials as well as a short (100 word) bio. These will be collated and distributed before the Masterclass to all participants.
Each person will have up to ten minutes to speak to their project followed by discussion.
Rather than a show and tell format, we ask participants to prepare a provocation – to present an idea or theme that relates to their work as the starting point for discussion.
Please bring food for a shared picnic lunch.
All Netwalking events are free of charge.
